A small paperback book rests on a glossy, warm, hard wood floor, viewed as if at one’s feet. The cover is a black and white photograph of a peaceful protest against police brutality: many dozens of bodies are lying on their backs in the street with signs in support of Breonna Taylor.

As we move forward from the past year, Ruckus is publishing our third print journal: The Annual, Volume 3, with cover artwork by Louisville photographer Jon Cherry. The Annual features articles that summarize artistic production in 2020, ranging from exhibitions reviews, conversations with artists, and reflections on experiences within our community, all in an archival print format. This year, we are offering readers the chance to help us produce this publication through a $25 sponsorship. Sponsors will have their names listed inside The Annual, and they will receive a complimentary copy of the book when it is released in February, 2021.

You, our readers, are the reason any of this is possible. So much of what we do has been crowd-funded and supported through the efforts of our multifaceted community, allowing Ruckus to remain an independent source for art writing in our region. For those who are able to support The Annual through a sponsorship, thank you! The sponsorship funds will go directly towards the production costs for the creation of this annual publication.

At the link in our bio, purchase a sponsorship by January 29, 2021 for inclusion in The Annual, Volume 3. Email info@ruckusjournal.org with any questions.
